Armillary Private Capital Ltd is a multidisciplinary financial advisory services business. Historically we run about one business acumen workshop a month. NZ is a nation of small businesses and we use Income/Outcome to help these business owners, and the professional organisations that interface with them, understand stake holder value. This gives business people a taste of both the practical application of Corporate Finance actions and the range of possibilities that all businesses face.

At the end of most simulations, we take the teams into some real-world scenarios:

  • Liquidate the last-place team
  • Pay a dividend for the second-place team
  • Value the winning team and execute a leveraged buy out

They take back to their work place the knowledge that their actions and decisions have real impact in terms of cash flow; profitability and the realisation of shareholder value.

Client comments

“Finance has never been my strength and I found the visual nature of the game was a great way to understand finance concepts and the implications of decisions.”

“Seeing the impact of various pricing strategies and business transactions on the financial statements was very enlightening.”

“Analysing each firm after going to market and looking at their changes was very good.”

Approach

Our main strengths are: a traditional M & A practice; a debt and equity capital raising business; management of the UNLISTED Trading Platform and Touchstone Capital Partners, as well as being the entrenched provider of training to Canterbury University MBA; Auckland University OMP; two of the four national law firms and NZ’s largest Government Department the IRD.

We specialize in Private Capital Markets: issuers and investors with transactions less than NZD50m. Recent transactions include the sale of M-Co to the NZ Stock Exchange; the sale of Engineering Business; raising capital on the NZAX Market for Pulse Utilities; raising capital for Wilderness Motorhomes, and acquisition advisory and debt raising for the acquisition of NZ’s largest FUSO dealership from Mitsubishi Motors NZ.
