Last month we hosted Income/Outcome University 2008, by far the most successful conference we have held to date. University and Fortune 500 clients came together with distributors from five continents to play the “Entrepreneurial Challenge” business game, hear academic and university keynote addresses, and share ideas and experiences.Steve Hunt at Income/Outcome University 2008The keynote presentation was by Steve Hunt, who originally introduced the Income/Outcome business simulation into Michelin North America in 1996. His use of a business game for finance literacy training and development to effect a culture change was so successful that he was subsequently promoted to Michelin Group headquarters in France, and given worldwide business finance training responsibility. 10′s of 1000′s of Michelin participants later, the corporate training program has effected a global cultural change in Michelin, and continues to contribute to the financial health of the company. Steve Hunt is now back in North America, and is a VP for Michelin Travel Guides.Steve talked about one of the main management concerns: what would happen if they shared financial results and the competition got hold of the numbers? Their response was to ‘share the numbers and beat the competition in the process’. Today most financial results are shared widely in Michelin NA, and most Michelin employees have become shareholders! We will be posting a highlights video soon.We will be posting a link to a video of the highlights of Steve
